The first president of the modern state of Ukraine, Leonid Kravchuk, has passed away at the age of 88.
The news was announced by the Mayor of Kyiv, Vitaly Klitschko.
"We will maintain the sovereignty and the will we received more than 30 years ago. We will not back down", Klitschko wrote on Telegram. / Labyrinth
