The "Queen of Albanian dance", Liljana Cingu, has passed away. The news was announced by the Theater of Opera and Ballet.
"Sad the death of the "Queen of Albanian dance", Lili Cingu. For years, she was the image of the Ensemble of Folk Songs and Dances, giving life to more than 200 dances danced by her. Lili Cingu belongs to that constellation of artists who brought Albanian dance to the biggest stages of the world, showing another Albania, with rich culture and folklore. The Ensemble rehearsal hall will miss her easy step, and her sweet speech. But this escape is only physical, because her name will live with the Ensemble, and wherever the Albanian dance is danced, there will be the memory of Lili Cing with the public that loved and appreciated her so much", writes the Opera and Ballet Theater in a post on "Facebook" this afternoon.
She brought the Albanian dance to the biggest stages of the world, giving Albania a different view, full of history, culture and rich folklore.
